Hi, Job - My boyfriend was a Conger.David Frederick Conger passed away in 2007.  Now his father, Harold Frederick Conger, just passed away. The family is making contact with any nieces and nephews of Harold Frederick Conger and this would mean the children of Herbert George Conger.  Do have any record of their names in the Conger book?Dave's daughter has asked me to check on this situation.  I don't know where Herbert's children are.  Maybe in New Mexico, maybe in Hawaii, maybe elsewhere.  Can you help me? I want to notify them of their uncle's passing at age 95.

. . . My grandfather's name was Kenneth Vaughn Conger, Sr. who married Mary Catharine Cripe. My father says he never talked about his family, and I would like to learn more about him. -- I have checked the CFA Volumes 1 & 2 and found nothing. If you can help, please write me also -- writer@eosinc.com -- and Mary.

. . . My email address has changed and I noticed the old one was still in the Conger Confab article.  You may change it to the new one or just remove the whole article because I believe now we are not CONGERS but just CONKERS.  I cannot place Jonathan (Conger) Conker anywhere in the Conger family at the present time.   My son erased all of my email addresses and that's why you haven't heard from me.   I also lost my husband of 34 years on Jan. 9, 2004 so I've pretty busy doing other things.  I was also sorry to hear about Maxine.  I'm sure you miss her tremendously.  Take care and keep up the good work.  Thanks for trying to help.

7-11-04 --  Two days agoI received a phone call from Robert Craven, Canton, OH. He was born Dan Conger November 28, 1945. He grew up in Madison, WI. He does not remember his borth mom's name, but he knows that years after he was adopted, she tried to get him back from his adopted parents. She was living in Denver, CO at the time. He doesn't know if she was still married to Robert Conger at the time. He does know, from what the adoption agency people told him, that his mom was an elevator operator. He believes that his birth mother was also adopted, and she thought she might have some black kin. If you can help Robert connect with his past, write him  rcraven@neo.rr.com and mention this web site.

121604 - from Nancy Teruya -    blueteru@hawaii.rr.com I'm a descendent of Isaac Todd, son of Thomas Isaac Todd and Zipporah Conger, Zipporrah being the daughter of Johnathan Conger and Euphemia "Fanny" Ross.  At least this is what I have been able to glean from DAR's Revolutionary War Index and Ancestry.com.

I haven't received any listing from the Conger list for so long, I thought it was kaput.  And I never hear anything from the MyFamily Conger website.  Is that still alive?

121204a -  from Ginny Manning - ginman@connectcorp.net
I had my mtDNA tested, and have been asked to submit something about my maternal ancestors.
I seem to be stuck on Mary unk, who was married to
Daniel Conger, b. abt. 1728 in Morristown, Morris Co., NJ.
Their daughter, Abigail Conger, b. abt. 1750 Morristown, Morris Co., NJ   was married to
Nathaniel Guerin in the First Presbyterian Church in Morristown, NJ on Feb. 1, 1775.
Daniel Conger, b. abt. 1728 was the son of
Benjamin conger, b. 1700 and Experience Foord, b. 1702.
Benjamin was the son of John Belconger and Sarah Cawood as far as I've been able to determine.
Need to know if you have any idea who Mary unknown is, where she came from, and who her parents might be.
Can you help me?

121204      Dear Job, I am trying to find a book called "The Amazing Story of the Congers in
America" By Sharon Taylor, copyright 1983 Do you know anything about it? .

ROBERT -- I have not heard about this book, and hope that anyone who has heard about it, who may have one to sell, will contact you first and me second.  writer@eosinc.com    It sounds like a volume which should be a permanent part of the Conger Family Archive.

I'm looking up some information on my grandmother's side. Her father was Jesse or Jess Conger from Delaware, Rush or Shelby County, Indiana and she never knew him or any of that side of the family. We only know the year he died, two sisters' names and that he had at least one other chiled, named Frances.

Subject: Clarence or Loren Conger, d. bef. 1894 Columbus, Ohio?
I hope someone can assist me on this "long shot."  I am seeking any information related to Clarence or Loren Conger.  His wife, Agnes J. Ferrell Conger, was listed in the Columbus, Ohio city directory in 1894 as widowed.  In another Columbus city directory two years later she is listed as the widow of Loren Conger.   I am seeking any information related to their marriage.  I am also
trying to find out specific information related to Clarence or Laren's birth and death.
Agnes was from Belmont County, Ohio.  I have been unable to locate Clarence
or Laren in the 1880 census that fits what little I know.  His death is not
recorded in the vital records of Columbus, Ohio.
Does anyone on this list have a "stray" Clarence, Lawrence, or Loren Conger
in their families who may have resided in the Ohio area in the 1880s or 1890s?

I am just beginning my family geneology research and found your website thru
information on Ancestry.com.  My greatgrandmother was Mary Emily Conger
married to John Henry Teate.  She died when my father was 11 and he does not
remember much about her.  I live in Jonesboro, Georgia which is not far from
her grave site in Palmetto.
Can you provide family information on Mary Emily (mother, father, etc)?  I can
provide you with their geneology forward, if you are interested.

Duane Stevens gave me your email address. He thought you may be able to help me. Do you know of any of the Conger families that lived in Hamilton Co, Ohio?
I have a William Hay who married a Margaret Conger in Hamilton Co. but do not know
the year. I think William Hay was b. abt 1800. There is also a Ketcham family in the same area.   Charles Hay ,William's brother, married an Elizabeth Ketcham/Ketchem before 1829.   I believe the Ketcham and Hay families  were the from NY/MD area.

My wife's mother (Marjorie Baumgartner Heinlein) has collected lots of
Conger information including the two huge books by Helen Leonard and a
number of Conger Confabs from 1997 through March 2001.
Although I am only a "Conger-in-law" I am the most computer literate of
the bunch and am using Family Tree Maker to enter the Conger line into my
database of 2000 names.
I would like to converse by e-mail.  Do you have an on-line forum?  Is
there a chat room?  I am having some difficulty interperting the CFOA format in
determining lineage way back in the 1720s that I know full well stem from
my not understanding the protocal.  I would like to get it straight.

                   Mar. - 25 Feb 1813

The purpose of this request is to provide additional information about Phoebe and Polly Conger and request verification of some of the source data.

1. Might as well start with the "big" one (at least for me):
I have reference that Polly (Conger) Roff married David Hathaway on 18 Jun 1836. Interesting that that is the exact date that is reflected for the death of Polly.
I also have a reference that indicates that David Hathaway was still living in 1870 and living with a Roff family (assumed to be a son of Polly Conger and her first husband).
Other information is that David Hathaway and Polly Conger had two children of their own.

2. Request source of death date of Pheobe Conger. Best I have is Feb 1834

Note: I am descended from David Hathaway and Phoebe Conger.
David and Phoebe had nine children born between 1810 and 1829.
