Inspired by my former Central Illinois Visual Arts Gallery (CIVAG) project, this new page was creatted to foster the same goals inspired by CIVAG while narrowing the focus of the enterprise. Starting August 21, 2009, I have begun a major renovation of this site, deleting some of the web sites included at the Arts Links page and updating many more. CONTENTS Arts Links -- arts organizations I'm familiar wtih, that have been kind to me OR are so competent and praiseworthy, it's not necessary for them to be kind to me. Springfield Arts Calendar -- news of arts exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances and more Reisch Brewery Book Web Page -- Job Conger and Reisch descendant Tony White are producing a history of Springfield, Illinois' famous Reisch Brewery. We are looking for pictures of the plant, places which sold Reisch beer and people who worked there during its 117 years on Springfield's near-west side. Visit the site and see how we're doing. Brotherhood of Jobs -- Probably the most mis=pronounced three-letter name in the Western alphabet, here is what I know of people, dogs and things named Job The Poetry of Job Conger -- I write poetry. Mine is about the life, times and poems of Springfield, Illinois citizen and poet Vachel Lindsay. Prism Galliard, Prism Quarterly and Brew's Muse back issues for FREE -- Poets & Writers Literary Forum of Springfield, Illinois is no more. The new Springfield Poets & Writers group has been formed to carry on the cause of encouraging people of all ages to engage creative writing and to help everyone write better. Back issues of the P&WLF publications listed above (anthologies of poetry and prose) are available for no charge to anyone willing to pay shipping. A list of issues and contributing writers, plus the cost of postage per single issue is presented at the new page. Recommended Reading Books sent to Job Conger for review are brought to your attention here. It's not a whitewash, but I write the reviews with a keyboard; not paintbrush and not a hatchet.
